Nell's Famous Recipes!

Recipe 1: Nasi Goreng.

Ingredients
Amount
Long grain rice 1 cups
Water 5 cups
Garlic 6 cloves (grated)
Carrots 250 gram (grated)
Shallot 1/2 bunch (1 inch cuts)
Egg 4
Salami or prawn or rashers middle bacon, chopped 5 tbs (as required)
Kecap Manis 25 ml tbs (as required)
Black Pepper as required
Peanut oil 2 tbsp (as required)

Method:

  1. Rinse the rice, drain and cook in a pot or rice cooker.
  2. Beat the eggs, divide in two; one to make thin omelet and the other half to make scrambled egg.
  3. Heat the wok in medium, and add garlic after a minute. Add grated carrots and mix them well.
  4. Cut salami in cubes; let the oil come out a little bit; once again, mix them all well as in step number 3; keep adding cut shallots
  5. Finally add the rice and do the final mix by also adding Kecap Manis and black pepper. Make sure you add all them and blend very well.
  6. Ready to serve as a main meal; can be served with beef rendang as well !!!
